A different approach
Your skin is unique, so at Oxona, our care is tailored to you. We understand the impact that dermatological issues can have on your physical and mental wellbeing, and believe that everyone should have fast access to treatment. From acne to eczema or scarring, our specialists can help. We offer expert assessment and consultation, helping to diagnose and monitor your condition, and making sure you fully understand what’s going on.
Then, you’ll have your treatment options or care pathways explained to you, whether it’s minor surgical removal, medication, or a referral back into NHS secondary care. We’re here to help you feel confident about your skin’s health and appearance, giving you everything you need to make an informed choice.
Our Specialisms
How it works
From the moment you book your appointment to post-treatment care, we’re here to support you.
- Place booking
Book your appointment online, with no need for a referral. Payment is arranged at the point of booking, and you’ll be asked to complete a pre-consultation questionnaire. - Consultation
Your appointment will give you the time you need to discuss your problem. Our specialists will make sure you are truly heard, then answer your questions with understanding, offering impartial advice. Before moving forward, you’ll feel equipped to make an informed decision. - Treatment plan
We don’t offer ‘off-the-shelf’ packages. Instead, we build treatment plans based on you as an individual, around your conditions and medical history. We will explore all available care pathways, taking into account any anxieties and respecting your decisions. - Check in
We appreciate that discussing symptoms can be uncomfortable for some people, and that you may feel anxious about your appointment. But as soon as you check in for your appointment, our relaxed atmosphere – with welcoming surroundings and friendly staff – will soon put you at ease.
What our patients think
Frequently asked questions
Do you offer Roaccutane (Isotretinoin) treatment for acne?
Yes. Roaccutane (Isotretinoin) is a drug used to treat acne. The regulations for prescribing this are very strict so regular appointments and blood tests are required. Many of our patients are on the waiting list to see an NHS dermatologist – we can get you started on Roaccutane and then you can switch to NHS once you get a date for your NHS consultation. You will need to come in for a Skin diagnosis and treatment consultation with Dr Anderson in the first instance.
Can I claim for my appointment on insurance?
You need to speak to your insurer prior to your appointment. Some insurers will reimburse you for the appointment, but you will need to present any documentation at the time of your appointment for the doctor to sign. Please note that all our doctors are registered with the GMC on the GP register not the consultant register. Please ensure you make this clear to your insurers at the outset.
Why is cyst removal more expensive than mole or blemish removal?
Cyst removal can be more complex as usually they are stuck down to underlying tissue. The cyst has to be teased away very carefully to ensure the entire cyst is removed and so that you get the best possible cosmetic result.
Do you treat children under the age of 18?
Yes, we can treat under 18s at both our clinics. However, for more invasive procedures or those requiring a certain level of pain tolerance, such as verruca freezing, we would recommend only over 10s.
